The Queer Allies Bible
The Ultimate Guide to Being an Empowering LGBTQIA+ Ally
Releasing March 25, 2025
In today’s world, there are a lot of opinions and discussions surrounding gender and sexual identities. Whether these conversations are happening in workplaces, legislatures, social media platforms, communities, schools, churches, and more; many are taking place without the voices of those within the community. The Queer Allies Bible, cuts through all the noise and provides a much needed guide for how to be an effective affirming ally.
While traveling across the United States, author NV Gay engaged in dialogues with individuals who were seeking information about how to become an ally, but were confused with how to become one. Many individuals emphasized that they are accepting of LGBTQIA+ individuals and the community, but do not understand how to use their voice to be an ally. This book is meant to do exactly that; educate those who are allies or want to be allies; and support them with the tools they need in order to be inclusive, accepting, and affirming of the entire LGBTQIA+ community.
Emphasis is placed on three main pillars; learning and understanding, being respectful, and advocating. The author uses various techniques to educate readers on all aspects of the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as provide personal narratives to help bring the material to life. As well, there are chapters diving into applying the techniques of allyship; such as conversation starters, responding to anti-LGBTQIA+ remarks, supporting the coming out process, religion and the LGBTQIA+ community, creating inclusive spaces, and more.
Using their knowledge, lived experiences, and conversations with various leaders; The Queer Allies Bible is truly an easy resource that will help anyone become an affirming ally to the LGBTQIA+ community.
Reviews
“In The Queer Allies Bible, NV Gay provides one of the most helpful tools to combat LGBTQ+ discrimination and stigma — education. NV expertly explains the vastness of identities and experiences within the LGBTQ+ community, and how those outside of the community can work to increase their allyship and understanding. In a time when queer and trans knowledge and needs are being suppressed, particularly in the United States, The Queer Allies Bible will serve as an important antidote to bring about the normalization and better recognition of the LGBTQ+ community and their vital needs.”

“The Queer Allies Bible is a much needed book. If you’re searching for one resource to help you understand and function compassionately within all aspects of queerness, this is it! Interspersed with thorough research, personal reflections, stories, and gorgeous photographs, I was pleasantly overwhelmed with how useful and helpful this book is for me and how it will be for so many others. It’s an indispensable manual on how to be a friend and ally of the LGBTQIA+ community. I highly recommend it, not just for individuals but for organizations, institutions, schools, businesses, etcetera, everywhere.”

“There is so much important information to take in. I want to go back and reread many passages over and over again in order to fully digest and understand it all. I want this knowledge to be a part of my heart and headspace moving forward in society. If I had a physical copy, it would soon be dogeared and full of post-it notes. I love that the book doesn't read as judgmental nor aggressively didactic, it's never preachy; it comes across from a place of love as told by a friend who wants you to understand the dilemma of vulnerable people and how we can best support the LGBTQIA+ community. While I thought I was more informed about LGBTQIA+ advocacy than the average cis-gender heterosexual person, this book has and is helping me recognize and bridge many of the gaps in my understanding.”

“In a society needing much guidance, this is THE Bible for it! As someone who studies human behavior and people in general, I learned a thing or two on how to become a better ally! I feel privileged to get to read this and learn from someone who truly cares about making a difference and impact on this world that needs so much help in understanding and compassion. The Queer Allies Bible will challenge the way people think to become stronger and better people and Allies!”

“I paused after writing this because-just wow! So much great information and with fantastic metaphors, analogies, personal stories and varied perspectives. These all “bring it home” in such a way and I could see a lot of people having “ah ha” moments. This took what I knew to a whole new level. The courage to share such intimate details of your own personal story and experiences is a privilege to read and I do not take that lightly. This is not only going to be so helpful but I truly believe it could move people forward in their thinking and hopefully propel us all in our actions!”
